Our first processing center, Improve de Mexico opened in 1996. It is located in the Jaumave valley of the state of Tamaulipas and is dedicated to the production of single strength Aloe Gel and Whole Leaf Liquid. This original facility is also where we developed DaltonMax 700®, our proprietary processed Aloe Vera Gel Dehydrated Powder 200X.
Always working to “Improve” our products and services, the business grew from that time until 2001 when a second processing center INBASA, was opened in the town of Hidalgo, Tamaulipas, equipped to produce large volumes of concentrated Aloe Liquid. This facility gave Improve a full product line including Aloe single strength and concentrates of both Gel and Whole Leaf and Spray Dried powders along with our DaltonMax 700®, to serve all Aloe consumers in the Cosmetic, Nutraceutical, and Beverage markets.
In 2005 we opened PROEZA also in Jaumave, a new state of the art facility dedicated to the production of DaltonMax 700®. This processing center adds not only greater volume capabilities but is equipped with a full product development laboratory including HPLC capability to give all our clients special product formulation, extended product analysis, and strict quality control. The facility is HACCP compliant and is certified along with our other two processing centers by the IASC.
Our Aloe Vera is certified Organically Grown by Quality Assurance International the recognized leader worldwide for Organic certification. Organically grown means that we never use chemical fertilizers or pesticides on our fields or plants. It also means that we follow a strict regiment of working organic material back into the soil to keep the fields in peak growing condition. Our fields are irrigated with natural water sources as needed. We constantly check our fields watching the maturity, leaf size, color, etc. of the plants and set up a rotation designed to harvest the leaves at the best time.
While harvesting may not sound like a very important step in many natural products it sure is with Aloe Vera. Not only do you need to harvest at the right time, but the method of harvesting is also critical. Each leaf is harvested by hand and must be nicked and pulled carefully from the mother plant so as not to break the rind. Properly taken, the leaves will naturally seal themselves within a short period and the inside gel will not be exposed to oxidation or contamination. We made sure to build our processing plants close to our fields. This is important because with a short ride to our processing plants the leaves will be fresher and will suffer far less bruises and other damage that can occur in transporting. Some companies spend several days getting their leaves to the processing plant while our leaves are processed within a day.
As you can see by our product list, Improve makes many different raw Aloe Vera liquids and powders. Each one is made to a specific formula designed to retain the efficacy of the Aloe Vera plant as it is in nature. We have invested in special equipment, some that we have developed ourselves, to apply as little heat to the Aloe Vera as possible in all our processing, knowing that heat will break down some of the bio-active components. An example of this is the development and installation of state-of-the-art condensing technology at INBASA our plant in Hidalgo, Mexico, so we can process liquid concentrate at lower temperatures to ensure that the Aloe retains as much of its natural polysaccharide profile as possible. Our investment also includes equipment to speed the processing, lessening the natural degradation of this organic product.
We at Improve pride ourselves on our record of service. We continue to deliver the product that you need at the time you need it. For twelve years we have made products that are the standard in our industry for the nutraceutical, cosmetic/personal care, and beverage industry, as well as special products or formulas that were designed to meet certain customer specifications.
